John’s first taste of the trades came the summer before his senior year of high school, when he found himself swapping stories with seasoned painters, picking up new skills, and discovering how much there was to learn beyond the brush. Since then, he’s worked from sunny Florida to the crisp air of Vermont and many places in-between, taking something valuable from every job site.

After COVID, John decided to see what life was like outside the trades and spent two and a half years building industrial PCs in a windowless workspace. It didn’t take long for him to realize that the “grass isn’t greener” when it’s under fluorescent lights. Coming back to painting—and the outdoors—was an easy choice.

When he’s not on a project, John is usually chasing the seasons: hiking and fishing in summer, snowboarding in winter, and, on rainy days, gaming with friends. He also has a knack for keeping downtime interesting—whether that’s practicing new yoyo tricks while waiting for paint to dry or picking up a new skill just for fun.

As a first-generation Greek American, John grew up between Greece and the southeastern U.S., fluent in both Greek and English, and carrying with him the simple motto that’s guided him through every chapter: “Work hard, play hard.”
